    FAQ

      What is the Yepse platform?

      Yepse is a unique platform, which combines two key features:
      • Free online advertising of user-generated commercial or consumer content;
      • Trading platform for advertising rights, for individuals.

      What does it mean "online advertising of user-generated content"

      Yepse members can create multimedia presentations – a combination of text boxes, image galleries, embedded video, links, surveys, contact forms and so on. Each such presentation is called yepse and resembles a small web page, in which the user can show and promote:
      • Something interesting, which the user would like to share with everybody, not only with friends and followers like it works in social networks, and no matter if it is with commercial or non-commercial purpose;
      • Business product or service;
      • Favourite music band;
      • A social event;
      • Collection of favourite music videos;
      • Etc.
      Each yepse has a URL address (link), which can be forwarded and points directly to the user-generated content.

      Once the yepse is created, set up and moderated, the platform begins to promote it through various internal and external channels (advertising networks).

      What does it mean trading with advertising rights by individuals?

      You probably know that online media and social networks own the advertising rights to their users. They sell and display ads targeting these users. If you want to advertise on such platforms, you have to pay to the media owner.

      Yepse relies on a unique business model – the users can build or acquire audience of their own, made by other users, and own the advertising rights to the audience like owning a share of Yepse's business.

      Once the user builds or acquires audience, s/he can trade for profit the advertising rights.

      If someone else wants to advertise through the Yepse platform in additional to the free advertising, s/he would pay to the user who sells access to his or her audience and not to Yepse.

      What makes Yepse different from all other online advertising platforms?

      Most of the free online advertising platforms are specialized for certain kind of content, e.g. jobs, restaurants, cars and so on. The services offered by these platforms are free, but if someone wants his or her ads to be displayed with higher precedence compared to the other users' ads, one has no other choice but pay.

      The paid advertising platforms operated by online media and social networks don't restrict the content to certain domain, but they have another big disadvantage - the higher price. Many people want to promote something, but their budget is not enough, which is especially true for starting businesses.

      Yepse is different:

      • Online advertising is free for all members. For boosting the ads, the platform observes three factors – user's activity on the platform, the quality of the user's content, paid boosters. It means that in Yepse every user can make his or her ads to be displayed with higher precedence not only by paying, but also by other means which are free and are in user's control;
      • Yepse broadcasts members' ads not only within the platform, but also in its display network. Such networks are offered by other online media operators, but in Yepse an ad campaign can be run for free;
      • Yepse does not sell ads and does not make money by selling ads;
      • Yepse members can collect virtual goods, which can be used for boosting their ads;
      • Yepse provides the unique opportunity to its members to build audience or acquire the advertising rights to the other members' audiences and then trade the rights for profit. With the standard business model the advertising rights are owned by the online media operators, while in Yepse – by its members!

      Why and how to boost the advertising of my yepses?

      By default all members' yepses are promoted equally. With the time, yepses are "aging" and are less and less promoted.

      When a member wants to boost his or her yepses, he can increase his or her Global Accelerator (hover the mouse cursor over the icon at the top-right edge of the site), which shows how much more are his or her yepses advertised, compared to the newly created yepse of a newly registered member with Standard membership.

      Global Accelerator is formed from:

      • Activity Accelerator weighted 25% – goes up with user's monthly activity and represents the amount of earned elixir . Users earn elixir for every minute of activity in the platform;
      • Rank Accelerator weighted 25% – goes up when other members vote positively for yepses, comments or personal profile, which brings up member's personal rank;
      • Booster Accelerator weighted 50% – goes up when the member buys boosters from the Shop. Boosters are paid with gold coins , which can be earned by voting.

      Yepse lets its members boost their ads not only by paying, but also by being active, by publishing quality content and by using boosters, which can be purchased with virtual currency, which can be earned for free.

      Every yepse ad can be renewed by its author with a click on the Renew button. That way the platform restarts the broadcast of the yepse as if it was just created.

      What else can I do in Yepse, besides publishing ads?

      The ads (yepses) should present interesting content, sorted in categories and subcategories.

      Every yepse is moderated and is approved only if it meets certain criteria.

      Every member can view the yepses of the other members by browsing the categories and subcategories, can vote for yepses or simply pick up the recommendations from the YEPSES panel.

      Yepse lets members befriend each other and discuss their publications in private message chats.

      The unique business model lets members build their own audience or acquire other members' auditories. The advertising rights to the audience one owns can be traded on the Market.

      Why is it useful to own advertising rights in Yepse?

      Yepse gives its members a unique opportunity to own the advertising rights to other members and:

      • to advertise to them. The top box in the YEPSES panel is reserved for the owner of the audience;
      • to sell ads, which are broadcasted to the audience members;
      • to rent out the audience for a certain period of time to other members for daily rent;
      • to sell the audience to other members.

      The members who own audience actually can operate as an ad agency – they own the advertising rights to certain people and can make profit utilizing this ownership.

      This business model is also suitable for members who have a lot of friends and followers in the social networks. If the followers join Yepse too, they become part of the audience of the person they follow and s/he can advertise to them and benefit from the popularity.

      Yepse opens a new market niche – trading advertising rights for individuals. So far such trading was only available for businesses and was operated by advertising agencies and online media platforms.

      How to build or acquire audience?

      Building an audience

      It happens by attracting new members to join Yepse. Every newcomer becomes part of the audience of the one who has invited him or her and will see with precedence his or her yepses.

      Yepse platform helps its members with attracting new members with set of Tools:

      • Personal link
        The link can be sent via email, be placed on a website and so on. Everyone who follows a personal link and joins Yepse, becomes part of the audience of the one who sent the link.
      • Web site script
        If the member has his or her own website or blog, s/he can install a script, preconfigured with the number yepses to be displayed, the layout, the category and subcategory, the colors of the background and of the font. When the script code is merged with the website's code, the website becomes part of the network of sites which broadcast yepses (display network). Everyone who follows a yepse from a display network site and joins Yepse becomes part of the audience of the site's owner.
      • Banners
        If the member has his or her own website or blog, s/he can install a script for a banner with preconfigured size. Everyone who follows the banner and joins Yepse becomes part of the audience of the site's owner.
      • Invite contacts
        In Contacts section a member can enter the e-mails of his/her contacts and then use the Invite contacts feature to send them an invitation e-mail. Everyone who follows the registration link from the e-mail and joins Yepse becomes part of the audience of the sender.
      • Facebook notifications
        A member can invite his or her Facebook friends. Everyone who follows the invitation notification and joins Yepse becomes part of the audience of the member.

      When a member shares a yepse with the Forward feature, everyone who follows the link and joins Yepse becomes part of the audience of the member.

      Acquiring an audience

      It happens by buying packages of audience from other members and is useful for members who want to invest in advertising rights.

      Every investor in rights can browse the audience package sale proposals, can check the quality indicators of these packages and buy them directly from the selling member.

      The audience owned by a member can be utilized in different ways:

      • the member can wait for the price of the audience to increase;
      • the member can advertise to the members who are part of the audience;
      • the member can sell online and offline ads to businesses;
      • the member can rent packages;
      • the member can sell packages;

      IMPORTANT: The owner of an audience knows nothing about the personal information of the members in the audience. S/he only owns the advertising rights.

      I made a yepse, but it is not broadcasted. Why?

      These are the possible reasons:

      • The yepse is Private – then only the author can see it. Change its status from the drop-down menu next to yepse's title in the editor.
      • The yepse does not follow the rules and is rejected by the moderators for broadcasting in the platform and/or in the display network. In this case the author should modify the yepse so that it meets the quality criteria – the content is not illegal, there are no coarse typos, the yepse does not duplicate another yepse from the same author, the content is interesting and is presented in a suitable way with images, video, text and so on. Detailed description of the rules can be found in the yepse editor, in the bar under yepse's title (where it stands whether the yepse is approved or not).
      • The yepse is configured to target specific users based on certain characteristics, and such users are either not registered in the platform or visit it rarely.

      How to improve the ranking of my yepses in search engines?

      Here are few tips how to create yepses so that they have a higher chance to be indexed in the forefront of the search engines:

      • The title should contain the keywords which the author wants to be indexed, in the form of a comprehensible text, phrase or sentence.
      • Each section of the yepse should have a title that is associated with the keywords. Title of a section can be written in the gray box above the section;
      • The text in each section should be associated with the keywords, but do not overdo it and the text should be understandable;
      • The more information related to the keywords is added to yepse, the greater the chance of a good ranking in the search engines;
      • If the user has his or her own website, links to the site improve ranking and positively influence the connectivity between the yepse and the site.

      What do I get if I have silver, gold or platinum subscription?

      Different monthly subscriptions from the Shop section influence the rate the virtual resources are collected. The higher the subscription, the faster the member earns resources.

      Example 1: With standard subscription, for every minute spent in Yepse, the user earns 1 , with silver subscription – 2 , with gold subscription – 3 and with platinum subscription – 4

      Example 2: With standard subscription, for every vote for a yepse, comment or poll, the user earns 1 , with silver subscription – 2 , with gold subscription – 3 and with platinum subscription – 4

      Example 3: With standard subscription, a member with 10% Activity Accelerator earns a daily login reward of 10 , with silver subscription – 20 , with gold subscription – 30 and with platinum subscription – 40

      How can I change my profile picture?

      In the Gallery section upload the picture, select it with the mouse to open it in a preview window and then click on the Profile button.

      How to set a title for a section in my yepse?

      The section title can be set by clicking on the gray bar right above the section.

      In what language should I write my yepses?

      By default the yepses are broadcasted in the country where the user is located, according to the profile settings. The language of every yepse must be consistent with the language of the country or in English (universal language).

      Yepses which are configured to show worldwide and not in a specific country must be in English!

      How can I know the purpose of the virtual resources in Yepse?

      For logged in users, right above the menu there are three icons for the three virtual resources . Hover the mouse cursor over each of them to read more information.

      How to find out how much are my yepses boosted?

      On the top-right part of the site there is an icon Global Accelerator with the acceleration percentage. Hover the mouse cursor over the icon to see how other three factors make the final acceleration percentage.

      Why is my yepse approved for broadcasting in the platform, but not in the display network?

      The display network broadcasts only yepses which contain featured information and are aesthetically appealing. The selection is at the discretion of the moderator.

      To increase the chance of approval, the author has to enhance the content, add logo, photos, videos, links, polls and additional text information.

      What are the possible issues with my yepses which are currently identified by moderators?

      Currently, a yepse can me marked to have one or more of the following issues, which may lead to rejection:

      The list with the current issues (if any) for a yepse can be found in the yepse editor, in the bar under yepse's title (where it stands whether the yepse is approved or not) - hover the mouse cursor over the icon .

      How to find out the purpose of the different sections in the Yepse website?

      Near each section's title there is a help icon: . Hover the mouse cursor over it to read more information about the section.

      Should I befriend other members in order to have my yepses broadcasted?

      Yepse members will see in the Home section the news for every newly created yepse by their friends. But the platform advertises every yepse to every user, no matter if the user and the author are friends.

      Friendships in Yepse let members chat with each other about yepses and receive news in the newsfeed about friends' yepses. But the number of friends a member has does not influence the number of the impressions of his or her yepses.

      What are Yepse groups good for?

      The groups in Yepse are not like groups in the popular social networks.

      When a member follows a Yepse group, s/he automatically follows all other members in the group and will see news about all yepses they make and all pictures they upload. This is useful for following large number of members who are not friends, but share common interests.

      Should I permit Yepse website to determine my geolocation?

      Yepse uses the integrated geolocation feature of the web browser. So the user may see a permission request dialog popping up.

      With geolocation enabled, Yepse can show the user's location from which some content is published, can recommend friendships based on locality and so on.

      If the user has blocked the geolocation feature, s/he can unblock it from browser's settings.

      What is the difference between impressions and views in yepse's stats?

      Impressions - it is the number of times the yepse was broadcasted, while views is the number of times the yepse was opened for reading by users different than the author.

      How to change the logo of my yepse?

      In the editor there is a picture at the left side of yepse's title. Click it to change the logo.

      Why and how to connect my Yepse account with my Facebook account?

      Connect the Yepse account with Facebook in Settings section.

      Users who connect their accounts can receive proposals for befriending Facebook friends in Yepse, can automatically retrieve photos from Facebook, can publish on the Facebook wall, and so on.

      Can I rearrange sections and photos in the yepse editor?

      Yepse section is rearranged by dragging it up and down by its top-left corner.

      Picture in the gallery section of a yepse is rearranged by dragging it by the gray top bar which appears when the mouse hovers over it.

      How can I make the video player in a yepse larger?

      There is a gray bar on the top side of the video when the mouse hovers over it. Clicking on the bar will make the video player window larger.

      What happens with my personal rank if I delete a yepse?

      Personal rank is calculated as a sum of all positive and negative votes for member's own yepses and comments in own or other members' yepses. Deletion of a yepse does not clear the votes so the personal rank does not change.

      Deletion of a comment, though, clears the votes for that comment and then the personal rank changes too.
